College Counseling

Navigating the process of deciding whether to go to college or not, as well as, what college can be a crippling or mystifying experience for students and families.  We want to ensure that because every student has different needs, interests, and skills, the college going process won't look the same for all students.  Our goal is to help your students explore and determine what the best option after high school for themselves.  There is no cookie cutter way to determine what makes a school "the right" choice.

New Tech High's staff is committed to providing personalized opportunities for students to explore these options and more.  Whether through project experiences, advisory, or additional opportunities, our goal is to expose students to as many diverse options as possible.  As well, we strive to be the best possible resource for families - whether it be their first child or last.  Below are just a few examples of how New Tech High helps students navigate the college going process:

  • 1-on-1 personal support via the counselor, college advisor, or student advisor.
  • Choices: College & Career Success course allows Juniors to explore college and career interests.
  • Through Advisory, Naviance allows students a personalized platform to explore college options.
  • Both a Fall and Spring, All School College Field Trip allows all 400+ students to see at least 7 or 8 college campuses during their time at NTHS.
  • Providing SAT Prep courses through SurferMath at more than a 50% discounted rate to families.
